Corus Entertainment’s Winnipeg offices are two of the most creative as well as technical projects in Grant Design Group’s portfolio. Grant Design Group has been fortunate enough to work with Corus Entertainment not once but twice when, eight years after our first partnership in 2011, Corus undertook to relocate from their suburban location to a downtown Class A office tower in 2019. In both projects, bright colors and bold patterns were used to reflect Corus’ dynamic corporate identity and branding. The same great care was taken second time round to generate a spacious layout and meet the strict sound requirements and functionality of multiple radio stations working under the Corus umbrella. However, there was an added layer of complexity with the 2019 project – providing all this while maintaining “business-as-usual” operations during both design and construction. A strategic phased construction schedule was developed which allowed television production to continue uninterrupted even while new radio studio and support spaces were being built around them – a testament to the tried and true relationship between client, designer and builder.
