Grant Design Group completes over 250 projects a year of various sizes. Many of our projects include project construction management services that would include activities such as tendering, site inspections, contract administration, meetings during construction, client recommendations during construction, coordination of contractor and consultants. There are not many interior design firms that act as prime consultant engaging other consultants such as architects and engineers. Grant Design Group has been acting as prime consultant for many years and as an interior design company, must be a strong client advocate in order to be hired since the local building codes often dictate that an architect or engineer is required to seal a drawing for construction (under specific conditions).
In addition to the role of Prime Consultant our experience also includes projects in which we played a purely project management role for projects that we did not design. In this capacity, Grant Design Group procured all engineering/architectural consultants, conducted tendering, awarded contracts, and acted as prime communicator and overseer of the project from start to finish. This is an important qualification of our company for project management.
Given our prior experience and ability to take on multiple roles, it can be demonstrated that we possess a diverse and strong understanding of the project management process from the point of view outside of design in more of a business role. We have accumulated a great deal of information of how some of the largest companies in Canada have implemented project management including Public Works and Government Services Canada Alternative Method of Project Delivery processes.
Our most recent projects in which we have acted solely as project manager include:
